Isabella Haskin 4/12/2019 11:51 AMMy diet is currently impacting deforestation because the food I eat is requiring more forests need to be cut down because they need space to grow/ raise the food that many others and I are eating. I could switch to a plant based diet to decrease my negative impact on deforestation. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseAs you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?
Isabella Haskin 4/12/2019 11:42 AMIt makes me realize that I do have an impact. Even though I am just one person I can do so much good for the environment and impact others to do the same. The parts that feel overwhelming is that there is so much bad that has already been done it can be hard to go back and fix it. It makes me feel hopeful that there are other people out there trying to fix it and many are coming together to do this. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Isabella Haskin 4/05/2019 11:36 AMNC can reinstate the tax refunds for passive geothermal. Federal government is able to provide incentives including tax refunds, reduced tax rates, or offer seed monies for active geothermal power plants.
