What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

As a domestic violence survivor I am very aware of the stigmatisation, marginalisation and underreresentation of abuse victims in my country, in my community. There is a lack of awareness of trauma and its consequences, a lack of awareness of the connection of violence and poverty. Its very hard for survivors, especially for poor ones to get the help they need.
