Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    1. Swamps that include peat rock which can be used as coal. Because they store so much carbon in them already. They cover .4 % of the earth's surface. peat which turns the bog into a peat bog. Because they absorb carbon from the atmosphere and hold it. 42 % Don't destroy them with construction and things. 15%.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

I learned that it's an easier way to produce smaller amounts of energy, and I was surprised that the Eiffel tower uses micro wind turbines. They turn the kinetic energy in mechanical energy, the kinetic energy from the wind due to uneven heating. They should evaluate if their property is good enough and has enough wind going through it.  On top of the BB and T maybe would be cool.

Higher standards of living are very often dependent on moving our environmental costs elsewhere. What are some specific ways in which the environmental impacts of your own lifestyle might be shifted elsewhere?

The environmental impacts that I produce are often caused due to too driving places that I and my family need to go. So what we could do instead of driving to the places we need to go is we could use the bus, bike, walk or run.

What inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?

Well, my mother I feel is a great inspiration for myself in this type of thing. For many years she has been part of preservation groups in which she would speak to many local officials to preserve old homes and buildings.

Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

You can invest in Geothermal energy in many ways such as company's that set up systems for geothermal systems and investing your money in them. But also helping your own home as well, installing geothermal heating systems.
