Here's a link I found helpful listing alternate names for palm oil, as well as the good and bad list of companies that use crude palm oil:
    https://drpongo.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/productpalmoillist2012flexweek.pdf

I was surprised to see that palm oil is used in toothpaste, shampoo and many other non-food products. I plan to read labels more, and look for alternates when palm oil is on the label without a note that it was sustainably harvested.

As I try to avoid using plastic bags, I'm realizing my biggest use are the "poop bags" I use twice a day walking the dog. Would appreciate any suggestions people have for avoiding these little plastic bags.

What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I am trying to avoid plastic bags for produce and bulk when I shop. It's lead me to wonder where else can I cut down on plastic. I found a helpful site documenting a person who has been trying to be "plastic-free" since 2007. Here's 100 of their tips:  https://myplasticfreelife.com/plasticfreeguide/
