Last night I came home to my freezer being left open. I had frozen raw meat and Shrimp in the freezer that began to thaw out. As  most people know, once raw meat is thawed you can't re- freeze it. So i had to cook all of it and meal prep so this food didn't go to waste. You'd be surprised how many different ways that you can prep shrimp!

This week has been  awesome! I feel as I have taken afew  steps back this week as I have flown in an airplane out of state for a job interview. But since I’ve bewn out of FL, I have made a conscious effort to eat less meat, more veggies and eat locally sourced food! I even joined a co-op in my future neighborhood.  I’m very excited about this!!

I like knowing where my food is coming from. I also like the idea of supporting my local community memeners instead of large corporations. I like have fresh food that is actually picked when it is ready to be picked.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

It reduces food waste. Many time of the sell by date is unrelated to when the food actually spoils. So much food goes to waste because people think that the food is bad when it really sint
