It has taken many hours, but I have read Drawdown carefully in its entirety.  Shouldn't that challenge be worth something?

David - - Yes!! Congratulations. Thank you. I have read it in a highly random kind of way. I'm really impressed. I'm also sad that that isn't a challenge the gives points. Oh well. I love that you did that during this time.

What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

A community in which people work together to reduce their overall carbon footprint.  Much greater appreciation of the magnitude of the threat we face will be needed to achieve this at scale.

David - - I've been thinking about scale a lot. It's easy for me to see how sustainability can work for one family, one home at a time; It's harder for me to understand how it can work for everyone everywhere. The structural changes are huge. I do appreciate that in the Upper Valley, though, we are demonstrating strategies that others can adapt to their own communities. - Lyn
