Ive been driven in cars most of my life due to the distance I love from my school. I have been carpooling and sharing rides for years and will continue to do so.

supporting local farmers is a big one for me. I've grown up around farmers and Its really important to support them for me. Making sure they have enough money to continue their crop keeps them solid and sustainable each year.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

If portions become smaller globally than the obesity rates in the united states will drop drastically. Overeating is one of the biggest factors for both childhood and adult obesity.

    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

I have heard of silvopasture before today. Silvopasture is the concept of integrating livestock, trees and forage plants into the same environment. This means cows and other kinds of livestock would be grazing in a shady forrest opposed to an open pasture. This is beneficial economically and environmentally. This allows farmers to sell timber from the trees they grow.
