    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

First I can start by cleaning and reusing glassware such as jars, containers, and bottles.
I can also reduce the amount of plastic and paper I use by maybe using less paper for assignments by maybe writing smaller and buying less plastic products.
This makes me feel great about myself because I feel like I'm making a difference, even if it is minimal. It feels good to easily do something so good.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

The best way is probably to spread awareness about the benefits and just the good things about Peatlands. Also, if necessary making petitions to save them from being destroyed/replaced.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

I think you could put the turbines on the BB&T building. Its one of the only tall buildings and since they are changing its design, it will probably use a lot more energy.

What are your next steps for saving energy?

The few steps the website gave me were to switch to energy efficient light bulbs, insulate my attic and overall just consider switching to solar energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

The waste that motivates me to change my food waste most is the hours of labor. I think it is because people spend their time and energy collecting these foods. It could take hours or maybe even days and I throw it away/compost it within a matter of seconds. That's a waste of strenuous energy for them and I treat it likes its nothing. If I spent my hard work on something and someone just threw the excess away I would be very unhappy.
