While saving bags for the Trex project at school, we realized just how much non-recyclable plastic is in around us.  We’ve started using machine washable produce bags at the grocery store and just got a reusable dry cleaning bag.  We don’t grab a straw when eating out.  Driving along 355, we noticed how much plastic was caught in fencing...gross!

There’s been a leaky faucet at work for months.  Many people have commented about it.  I had a chance to speak with someone higher up and it was fixed immediately.  We were super excited to see it fixed.

Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

Any time I’m offered a straw or plastic bag, I can say “no thank you”.  That keeps these dangers away from the animals that live within our system.
