Food
Support Local Food Systems
#4 Plant-Rich Diet
I will source 50 percent of my food from local producers each day. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.
Women and Girls
Connect With A Nonprofit
#6 Educating Girls, #7 Family Planning, #62 Women Smallholders
I will connect with a local nonprofit working on womens' or girls' issues in my community, and find out how I can get involved or become a member.
Materials
Go Paperless
#70 Recycled Paper
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 0.11lbs (0.05kg) a day or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Food
Zero-waste Cooking
#3 Reduced Food Waste
I will cook 2 meal(s) with zero-waste each day

Fix Leaky Faucets
#46 Water Saving - Home

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodDependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?
Crystal Marney 4/10/2019 4:24 PMI love the fact that when you go into a locally owned small shop, you get the chance to interact with the people that make it all possible. The time and the care that go into sourcing fresh foods and keeping a business up and running is what inspires me the most. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Crystal Marney 4/10/2019 4:21 PMI either take the bus or I carpool everywhere I go. Definitely to the grocery store and to work. It's a great chance to interact with other people too! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Crystal Marney 4/10/2019 4:20 PMI think that transportation has become very convenient for people so it becomes easier for people to forget the impact that it truly has on the environment. It's important to step out of what you know and are comfortable with sometimes in order to do some good <3
