REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesWhat are your next steps for saving energy?
Maggie McCoy 4/24/2019 9:46 AMDoing an energy audit is still on my list of things to do. My house is very old and I know there is poor insulation in a number of places. While we have replaced a number of large ticket items the past couple years, including the HVAC and the water heater, I know there are still things we can do to improve how energy is used in our home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Maggie McCoy 4/24/2019 9:41 AMIn my neighborhood, most of the human activities that impact water are related to how people care for their yards, manage their HHW, and manage their pet waste. I had some mulch left over from putting in a vegetable garden and did not know it could help manage water runoff by our tree. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesWhat are some of the benefits of making your home more energy efficient?
Maggie McCoy 4/23/2019 12:16 PMThe main benefit for us is being more comfortable in our home and spending less money on electricity and gas, but it is also great for producing less greenhouse gases. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Maggie McCoy 4/23/2019 11:54 AMWe mainly focused on switching our coffee to Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. I have also switched the power bars I buy to being Rainforest Aliiance certified as well. It costs a little bit more, but it is only a couple extra dollars over the course of the month.
