REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?
Allison Mitchell 4/24/2019 10:24 AMLiving in a rural area with hilly terrain, many things are more than a 3 mile distance. But with an electric bike, I would certainly be more likely to ride the 5 - 10 miles to visit friends or to a store. -
Allison Mitchell 4/24/2019 2:41 AMIt was a really great learning experience and one that brought a definite shift to the way I do things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsGood job on choosing recycled paper! How can you take your action a step further?
Allison Mitchell 4/24/2019 2:41 AMI am choosing to buy products that are recycled or from sustainable sources, as well as no plastic. There are a number of companies who are getting wise to the need for convenience and sustainability. Dropps for laundry detergent and Bite for toothpaste offer alternatives to the plastic wrapping and packaging. -
Allison Mitchell 4/23/2019 3:05 PMOne more day! And I learned a lot. Still am! -

Allison Mitchell 4/23/2019 12:01 PMHolding on to the sacredness of a spot, as well as respecting the land around it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportWhat did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?
Allison Mitchell 4/23/2019 2:44 AMThat "bad air" is causing hardening of arteries and an increase in heart attacks and strokes. That I did not know. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodClean air, clean water and healthy food are three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons?
Allison Mitchell 4/22/2019 4:18 AMWhat we leave behind. These practices allow the earth to do what it already does well, without too much interference. Many of the negative effects of current practices extend far beyond the single season. -
Allison Mitchell 4/22/2019 4:13 AMI'm still trying to find a local workshop on Indigenous land usage. Not as easy as I thought!

REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Allison Mitchell 4/19/2019 4:27 AMInstalling toilet banks or other low water usage appliances, using drip tape for gardening to water directly to the roots of plants and avoiding using sprinklers, especially industrial sized (not sure about a better system for those) and fixing those leaky faucets and running toilets. Shorter showers. Rain water collection. To name a few. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow do you address your own feelings of concern, fear or despair about climate change?
Allison Mitchell 4/19/2019 4:15 AMI keep reading about the good initiatives that are happening to address climate change, and get inspiration from that to keep going.
