REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Devin Moore 4/11/2019 6:26 AMI think being aware of your dollar as a vote is huge. Supporting companies that don't destroy peatlands can make an impact. Education is another way to spread the word about how crucial peatlands are to our Earth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?
Devin Moore 4/08/2019 9:47 AMThese issues can be terrible for humans to breathe in and just because someone may be of a lower-income group does not mean that they should be subjected to lesser quality cookstoves that can cause these types of things. We should be able to trust that we can cook safely and breathe easily when we are make meals for us and our families no matter how much money we have!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Devin Moore 4/08/2019 9:45 AMIt makes you realize how much food we think is "bad" in this country. We need to make those decisions wisely and realistically. If you don't think you can eat it in an appropriate amount of time for the best by or use by date, then go for something different! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Devin Moore 4/08/2019 9:44 AMI would much rather use this money to save for future expenses or donate to good causes!!
