Go Paperless

REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Erin Murphy 4/24/2019 11:13 AMDuring my walks each day I just love to appreciate the beauty of nature all around me. It is sad to think that some people do not take the time out each day to enjoy this beauty all around them. I think if people spent more time outside appreciating nature, they would care more about working towards keeping out environment clean. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Erin Murphy 4/17/2019 5:45 PMI believe that you can truly reuse anything if you try hard enough, you just need to be creative! Something as simple as a water bottle can be turned into something functional such as a pot for a plant or a pencil holder. I think reusing is one of the most important "R's" because it helps save the world, it can help save you money, and it gives you a chance to get creative and express yourself. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Erin Murphy 4/10/2019 2:13 PMFood waste is one of the major causes of carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Many people are unaware of this fact. Reducing the amount of food that you put on your plate will make you more likely to finish your whole place and then you do not have food to waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Erin Murphy 4/10/2019 2:08 PMIt scares me how much we are affecting the planet. There is a crazy amount of plastic and other toxins in the oceans and landfills. These actions are affecting us, animals, and the Earth as a whole. What is most scary about this is the amount of people that are uninformed of our destruction and the amount of people that are informed of this but simply do not care. Even the individuals that do care, do not act on it because they think that if no one else is acting, what difference would they make? However, the more people try to work together to take care of our planet, the more progress we will make. Even starting small by properly recycling items or reducing your use of plastic will make a change.
