REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?
June Myrick 4/20/2019 8:25 AMWe fixed two faucets that had slow drips. When I shower, I turn off the water while I suds up then turn it on to rinse. I use the leftover dog bowl water on outdoor plants. -
June Myrick 4/20/2019 8:11 AMI joined the challenge to learn how I can make permanent changes in my everyday life that are good for our planet. There is so much eye opening information. -
June Myrick 4/16/2019 8:50 AMIt is shred week in my department ; management has ordered extra secure paper and media shred bins. I have gone through all my old files and have four paper bags full of paper that can be shredded and re-purposed. It is great, saves me allot of time doing it manually myself. -
June Myrick 4/14/2019 3:50 PMMy challenge of eating two meatless meals daily is going well. This is something I could do long term. I have tried to get my husband to join me; he has successfully done one meatless meal a day and on occasion he has done two. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
June Myrick 4/13/2019 8:27 AMI always check dates before purchasing food products, I want to make sure that I have them in my weekly food plans before the best by dates. The few can products that I buy if the best buy date is getting close, I will either incorporate them into my weekly meal preparations or donate them to the church pantry or local food bank. -
June Myrick 4/10/2019 6:01 AMI read that washing clothes in cold water saves energy. I am currently doing this and I achieve the same results as with other temperatures; so it is cold water for me from now on. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
June Myrick 4/09/2019 7:10 AMIt would be great if all of our waste could be recycled into some kind of reusable product. I really pay attention to what I buy and how it can be recycled.-
Mari-Lynn Flaig 4/15/2019 7:23 AMI saw a youtube video about these grease globs that were gigantic and stuck in the London sewers, blocking the flow. They are now trying to take those grease-burgs and convert them to energy. the last one they moved was as big as five football fields. I wonder if there was a way that the garbage folks could collect grease from households and do the same thing here.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? Share some of the learning with your friends!
June Myrick 4/07/2019 11:32 AMFamily planning is so important. Voluntary family planning is a right. Both men and women should have access to safe and affordable family planning. All people should be able to decide for themselves if and when to have children and receive treatment for infertility if needed.
