Calli Nanney 4/15/2019 9:05 PMToday I decided to focus on food waste. I cleaned out my fridge (something that rarely happens). I ended up tossing out quite a few items, including lettuce and other produce that has gone bad, two meat dishes I made a couple of weeks ago that were so far back in the fridge I forgot they were even in there, and almost an entire carton of almond milk I let expire. I felt so wasteful. I realized that, since I live alone and hardly ever cook for anyone but myself, I need to start cutting recipes in half or fourth, purchasing less fresh produce at a time, and buying smaller containers of prepackaged goods in order to stop wasting so much! -
Calli Nanney 4/10/2019 8:17 PMToday I decided to take the bus to school, saving 10 miles round trip in my car. It was actually a nice experience, as I was able to review for a quiz and finish a reading for one of my classes. I cleaned out my binders and recycled a huge stack of papers; it made me realize how much paper goes to waste daily, so I will make an effort to take notes on my laptop instead of wasting paper. And finally, for breakfast and lunch today I enjoyed meatless meals.
