REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Brian Norman 4/08/2019 8:40 PMDon't waste much food - peelings from Vegetables along with Banana skins, Avocado and tangerine skins, as well as a few apple cores. Burnt about 1/2 cup of cooked oat grouts (like porridge) had to add them to the green bin. Reminds me I should set the timer -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Explore Other Food SolutionsWhat did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Brian Norman 4/03/2019 2:05 PMWhenn America was Formed, the Gun was the tool they used to conquer the land, and decimate the herds of buffalo and other animals. Also provided room to raise catle and herd them to the local markets. People got ised to eating meat, and this habit has expanded to encompass all forms of meat from the steaks etc diwn to the Burgers. With the rise of franchising this wat of life sprad widely in the US and has gone on to other countries. In conjuncton with highly refined foods this had a huge impact on US choices of "nutrition" It is only recently that we arebeginning to understand the detrimental effect this has had on our health. At the present , in spite of all the thinking and bad habits that we have fallen into, there is a great movement to understand he best way forward, and I feel we are making progress toward a more healthy lifestyle which doies not include animal products.-
Andrea Stephens 4/06/2019 7:16 PMCompletely agree!
Glad to see our federal government is finally leading by example in this area by releasing a new Canadian Food Guide which truly speaks the truth about healthy eating ideals'
