  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

Meat in america is relatively inexpensive compared to other countries.  Making it more accessible to more people.    We value meat as it says we have wealth since it did mean at one time if a person had meat on the table they were wealthy.  Today its become less so but its part of our culture.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Women and Girls Support Women-Owned Businesses

Family planning is important, especially for maternal health.  It reduces abortions especially unsafe ones.  It empowers women and helps in the development of communities as well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Elizabeth Noselli's avatar
    Elizabeth Noselli 4/16/2019 4:45 AM
It helps reduce waste as there are foods that can still be used after their best by dates.  Use by indicates the quality of a product going down, not the fact that it could make you sick.  Sell by is directed more towards the retailer and when it should be removed off of their shelves.  For the consumer, the product is still safe to use.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Elizabeth Noselli's avatar
    Elizabeth Noselli 4/15/2019 12:42 PM
Where are live there are numerous farms close by, including what is known as black dirt country.  We not only need these farms for the ability to have fresh foods so close to us, but what they provide to us in the communities.  There's nothing like farm fresh vegetables, fruits and meats.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?

    Elizabeth Noselli's avatar
    Elizabeth Noselli 4/15/2019 12:40 PM
The concept came about in the 1800's with the technology beginning to be implemented in the 1940's.  The first wave power plant opened in 2008 in Portugal.
