REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat is the most exciting solution you explored? Why is it exciting to you?
Sarah Peters 4/24/2019 7:51 AMWe had a very interesting presentation on tidal energy and it's minimal impact on the environment and reliability! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Sarah Peters 4/22/2019 5:44 AMThis allows me have a clearer picture of when I have to use food by and helps me reduce both my food waste and grocery bill -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Sarah Peters 4/22/2019 5:43 AMI think it is both cultural and a lack of knowledge about alternative sources of protein. There is a sense that no meal is complete without meat and most meals center around a main of meat and sides of vegetables and starches. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Sarah Peters 4/15/2019 8:24 AMUsing smaller plates isn't just a recommendation for reducing food waste but also for healthy weight maintenance or weight loss. A fuller plate makes us feel like we are eating more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Sarah Peters 4/15/2019 8:22 AMGrowing up in a small town public transportation wasn't really available and riding the bus was looked down on. Now in a big city no one thinks twice about it and it is a necessity. I use public transportation every day to avoid congestion on the roads and paying for parking. -
Sarah Peters 4/08/2019 6:49 AMI installed a new low flow shower head with a handheld attachment this weekend. Not only am I saving water every day but I am also reducing my carbon footprint as I no longer have drive my dog to a dog wash every two weeks!
