Andy Platt 4/11/2019 2:56 PMHow am I supposed to count waste that goes to compost... is it not waste? Or a higher level waste since it was not consumed.. also it may make us heave all the rotten stuff we should eaten .. which causes unwarranted glee because it will give us more compost!! Something to ponder-
Alexandra Vecchio 4/19/2019 3:22 AMWhere does your compost go, Andy? Does it get hauled off or is it used in your own yard for gardening?

Andy Platt 4/09/2019 5:21 PMIt is amazing.. I have never been a member of the clean plate club., but I am now. I realize this is about changing habits.. am amazed by how much we are now aware.. easy example cut off the end of a red pepper ., now we cut it off and cut again around the inedible end., for s juicy little morsel .., previously Into the compost., I think we are reducing what is going into compost although that is not s total waste ! -
Andy Platt 4/04/2019 4:40 PMOk so here is a new food waste syndrome I have named it “Bruised Fruit Avoidance”
Picture any small fruit. Bluberries, strawberries, raspberries, even bananas
People select the best .. often on top
to consume leaving the less favored for another day. These unselected begin to get more tired and even begin to rot and end up as food waste. If they were eaten on day 1., they would be quite fine.. not perfect but edible
So one suggestion seek out the lesser berries and select them first., dig down abit in the container so you can bypass BFSS
