Petra Ruger 4/24/2019 6:38 PMTrees are peaceful and strong. I took a cutting from the willow tree on our property it Is one of the oldest trees in our area. I soaked the cutting in water for 3 weeks to sprout roots and now I am planting this tiny willow and caring for it. -

All street lights are being replaced with LED in the town and village. All citizens including those who rent will have access to solar energy as the plan progresses. Community composting is available.Trails are being maintained. Etc. There are opportunities to volunteer and get involved if anyone is interested.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Petra Ruger 4/12/2019 6:01 AMI believe that we need to make immediate changes towards a sustainable future for our community, children and the world as a whole. The technology exists for sustainable energy and now we need to work together with our governments to implement the change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?
Petra Ruger 4/12/2019 5:18 AMI tested an e bike and decided that I like my road bike and my mountain bike better. I was able to go about 2 miles faster on the e bike, not enough for me to spend $3000! So for me muscle power is still the way to go.
