    Transport Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I carpool to my theatre rehearsals every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays with my friends, Hogan, Sam, Annabel, Colin, Alex, Teagan, and Eva. This means that we all get there quickly and without emitting so much carbon.

    Land Use Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

To protect peatlands, we can help by reducing the demand for the products made with the palm oil and paper plantations. We can do this even from far away from a peatland. If we use less things that need palm oil, pulp, or paper plantations, they won't need to drain as many peatlands.

What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

I found out that a plant-rich diet increases food security and healthy living while it also releases less CO2 since it does not involve harvesting the meat from animals. Reducing food waste reduces emissions because you don't need to clear the fields as much since there is less demand.

Electricity Generation Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

In Asheville, it would be fairly easy to put microturbines around everywhere since they are so small. You could put them on the roofs of flat-topped buildings on in places like parks that have a lot of room.

What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

I asked my parents if we could drive 26 hours in a car with my dog instead of flying. I knew that it would be long and tedious but it was a small sacrifice compared to the tolls our planet takes for our survival as an incompetent species. Also, this allowed my evil dog to come with us to New York instead of starving at my humble abode here in Marshall, North Carolina. To avoid killing the Earth, I can opt to take my car to school instead of my private jet. In all seriousness, we can use air travel much less particularly when you can carpool since that releases less CO2 than taking one car per family.

    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I feel like we've been conditioned to eat meat from our ancestors' habits of hunting for food and we've been so caught up in our daily lives and industrialization that we find it easier to kill an animal than make a healthy meal with just fruits, grains, and dairy. This way of living will be our downfall since more meat leads to health issues in the heart and overall increases sodium intake and cholesterol. The people of America also do not realize the environmental impact of eating meat regarding the animals themselves. They don't think about the animals being killed or the populations decreasing.
