  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

Food waste is a major issue.  Wasting water makes me upset the most because many people don't have any and we use it as if it is unlimited
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Support Nutrient Management
How does environmental quality influence your sense of community?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:33 AM
I wouldn't want to be in a place that doesn't care about their environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

It may help stay in shape if you are dieting.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:30 AM
This money could be spent on eco friendly products such as reusable water bottles and solar panels.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:29 AM
My experience would change because it would take a lot longer for me to get places.  If i didn't have a mode of transportation, i would not be going to as many places as i am now.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Advocate For Greener Vehicles
How does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:27 AM
Although green vehicle are expensive, they save money in the long run.  They will also save our environment by not polluting into the air.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Conduct Virtual Meetings
How can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?

    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:25 AM
We will take it serious and people will be help accountable if they do not join the call.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transport Test Drive an Electric Bike
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:24 AM
If it is a nice day out i elect to walk or ride a bike but normally i drive.  An electric bike could be very useful, especially to people that live in a city.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Buildings and Cities Replace Manual Thermostats
How do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for smart ones will positively impact your life?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:16 AM
It helps reduce energy usage and can pay for itself in just two years time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Watch a Video about Methane Digesters
What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

    Jared Salomon's avatar
    Jared Salomon 4/01/2019 7:14 AM
My community would need to become more solar friendly, which can be difficult because of how much solar costs.  However, it would make our community much better in the long run.
