Sean Selby 4/10/2019 11:17 AMOur meat intact is minimal. We do eat it, but try to limit it. We eat a lot of fruits and veggies. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Sean Selby 4/10/2019 11:15 AMAll of it- I hate wasting food, but we try to compost as much as possible to try to offset what we can. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Sean Selby 4/08/2019 12:55 PMNever heard of silvopasture but it's a fantastic natural way to feed animals on a farm and a great savings to farmers. Beautiful landscapes too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Sean Selby 4/08/2019 5:56 AMI hope we can make it easier and easier for everybody to take public transportation - the more people get around in higher capacity vehicles, the less traffic there'll be. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Sean Selby 4/07/2019 10:42 AMAmericans are pretty unhealthy and wasteful. It feels good to eat less meat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Sean Selby 4/07/2019 10:41 AMI've just learned what a bog is, and it's pretty important to retain these significant resources as much as possible. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
