REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Stacy Shreves 4/24/2019 11:29 AMIt would seem that the best way to make a positive impact, according to your info, is to go vegan and give up chocolate and coffee. However, that's not going to happen for me. I can reduce the amount of chocolate and coffee that I consume and I can increase the amount of vegetarian meals that I eat during the week. That seems like a much more realistic goal at this point. ☺ -
Stacy Shreves 4/23/2019 3:42 PMI'm kinda bummed that this challenge ends tomorrow! We've made some changes at work and at home that I'd really love to stick with: turning lights off when we don't need them on, making sure faucets aren't dripping, cutting back on meat at our meals, cooking smaller portions at meals. I love having a recycled craft area at work for kids too! This has been a great experience! -
Stacy Shreves 4/22/2019 5:06 AMHappy Earth Day! 🌎 What a perfect day to focus on reducing, reusing and recycling here at home! Time to begin a few small projects! ♻ -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Stacy Shreves 4/18/2019 5:52 AMI would like to prioritize experiences over material items. I would much rather go to a show, a gallery or a museum than collect more "stuff". Libraries are so helpful with this goal because I can save my money by borrowing books instead of buying them and cluttering up my house with books (more than it already is, lol!!!). 😁 -
Stacy Shreves 4/17/2019 11:10 AMI realized this morning that we only have 7 more days to go in our challenges! It's time to start thinking about ways to be involved and contribute to the fight against global warming beyond this challenge. This has been a great experience at home and at work and it shouldn't be difficult to keep it going. 🌎 -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Stacy Shreves 4/17/2019 5:37 AMMy vision would include a recycling center and a community garden. We would need the town board to take action and get a few community organizations to get involved in order to make it happen. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsHow are people responding to the statistics you're sharing on social media?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsWhy is it important that girls have equal access to education in order to reduce our global greenhouse gas emissions?
Stacy Shreves 4/10/2019 4:18 PMAs you cite in one of your online articles, "Over time, educated girls will grow up into empowered women who have the freedom to make choices about their futures and their bodies - crucial to slowing rampant population growth and thereby reducing emissions."
Education lasts a lifetime and gets passed along to children, grandchildren, etc. Supporting women's education is a great way to help combat climate change! I just started a money jar here at home for my family to contribute to so that we can donate to the Malala Fund soon.
