What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

A fully sustainable community would be one that would not run out of resources due to being able to reuse all materials that are used. It’s honestly a difficult goal to reach for, but for starters the government can subsidize for more eco-friendly energy use and amp up the prices of materials such as gas that contributes to a large portion of the CO2 emissions.

What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

I didn't see flying to Carbondale as a option at all honestly, I hate planes and going on the Amtrak was just the cheaper and smarter way of visiting the school down there. And SIU? It was alright I guess. But taking the train to go across states is something that people should consider doing, since it's more beneficial for the environment, as well as your wallet.
