  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I definitely implement these R's into my life and I feel great about doing it! I also save money on containers and it is more convenient for me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

Experiences are so much more important to me than things!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I believe that we are so embedded in our consumer society that we disregard the harm we are doing to ourselves, the animals we consume, and the planet. It makes me very sad, so I try to eat as many vegetarian meals as possible.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I would rather use this money on a trip!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

It helps me to make educated choices about which foods I can still eat. Most of the food in my fridge is still safe to eat and now I know that.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

I constantly think about those that do not have enough food, so it is easy for me to reduce waste by eating all of the food I purchase before buying more.
