Wow.  I can't believe this is the last day!   I had a ton of fun doing the challenges and learning so much from drawdown as well as being inspired from people posting!  I will be staying on my whole food, plant based diet as well as try to get my daily walks in.  Unfortunately I don't always get the time to do them, but as the weather warms up and the evenings get longer (in terms of daylight), I will be inspired to get out there!   Thanks everyone for being such a great team!

Wow!  Great job everyone for all that you have done.   This has been a great challenge, fun and educational!   And what a great team we have!  Looks like Sandy and Amy managed to get a few more one time challenges completed.  I have a few to do as well that I will try to get done today!   And Melissa said she will also get hers done!   Good luck everyone on the last day!

    Happy Easter everyone!

Went downtown today as it was supposed to be a beautiful sunny day.   It was a bit colder than expected but at least it wasn't raining.   We went to Scarborough Bluffs.  It has been a long time since I've been there.  It was beautiful and there were some families BBQ'ing.   It smelled like summer!!!!   Then we went to check out the Stackt Market.   It is a temporary market made of stacked shipping containers.   Cool concept and it was nice to do something different.  :-)   All in all a good day out and got my walking in.  :-)

I forgot to check in yesterday.   Was really tired.  I like my new whole food plant based diet but it's been a bit of work to get my pantry filled with all the new staples.  And just getting used to new way of cooking. Just a switch that I have to get used to.  But the recipe book I bought is great. I am loving all the new and creative salads with great homemade dressings that I have been trying out!

it gets SO much easier over time!  Tahini dressing is really good and in a pinch a simple balsalmic vinegrette is easy or just add a Tablespoon or two of hummus.  Lemons and limes really come in handy so I try to stock up.  So many great books, websites, youtube channels that will really inspire you!   'Hot for Food' is a really good website/youtube channel as is the 'Oh She Glows' website and The Minimalist Baker.

Wow, a lot of great posts!   I was wondering if you guys could help me out.   I am working with another individual to try to get Richmond Hill to declare a Climate Emergency.   I may be starting a petition to get signatures and was trying to come up with a list of climate change impacts to Richmond Hill.    Here is what I have so far:
     - Nile Virus - health issues, increase in health costs
     - lyme disease - health issues, increase in health costs
     - extra snowstorms - cost more to clear roads and now windrows. increase costs in heating homes
     - extra heat in summer - heat waves, increase cost in air conditioning homes
     - flooding?
     - ice storms - lose electricity?
     - wind storms - shingles off roofs, fences collapsing, possible increase costs in house insurance?
If you can think of anything else, I would love to hear from you.   Or any other comments or examples from my list would be great.   Thanks everyone!

Even though it was snowing today, it was a beautiful sunny day!   Had a great walk.  Nice to see some tulips starting to come up, in our garden and others.   And also seeing buds in the trees!  Spring is in the air, even if it is a bit cold!  At least the snow didn't stay on the ground!
