REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Alex Thorp 4/11/2019 12:31 PMIn a sustainable community, small-scale alternative energy sources would have to be far more available and standardized, like in sunnier areas having solar panels installed in houses as they're built, windier areas having common, small turbines to generate auxillary power, and more available sustainable foods such as lab-grown meat, fruits and vegetables, and a good water system that could also generate power as it runs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Alex Thorp 4/11/2019 12:26 PMI don't know of many places around the city that are high up, but perhaps around the area of the river there could be turbines installed, especially if they're smaller in size.
