  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

I have been consistently using "lunch" sized plates at home and small tupperware containers at school. It helps me portion out my meals better, and because of making myself more aware, I have lost 4 pounds in the last week. (Portion size along with exercise of course)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

Knowing that there is a distinct difference between all of the different dates marked on food items will help me make better decisions because I now know that just because something says "sell by" or "best by" does not mean that once that date has passed, it has expired. All it means is that stores should not sell an item past that date, and the taste or consistency may be best if consumed by the specified date. I will not throw out these items before trying them first.

Buildings and Cities Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

I spent all day at school today, so my walk was done around my campus. While the (obvious) buildings can be an eye-sore, the campus has done a lot as far as keeping the grounds clean, maintains the plants and small gardens throughout pathways making It feel less like a campus and a little bit like a park!
