REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Help Girls Overcome Health BarriersIn what other ways could you help girls overcome health barriers to being able to attend school?
Gail Yeo 4/03/2019 3:42 PMI will provide toiletries to a local homeless shelter so girls have what they need to easily get ready for school to make learning more accessible. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice DonateHow are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?
Gail Yeo 4/03/2019 3:39 PMThese issues matter to me because the cookstove frees people (mostly women and children) from devoting too much time to searching for fuel which causes deforestation and pollution. With a ready source of energy to cook on more time can be devoted to education.-
Alexandra Vecchio 4/04/2019 4:52 PMTotally agree, Gail! Addressing climate change is an overwhelming problem, but it also provides us with the opportunity to do things better/ different than we ever have before! Great work on behalf of Mass Audubon's Drawdown EcoChallenge Team!

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Fund Family PlanningWhen family planning focuses on healthcare provision and meeting the expressed needs of women, it results in empowerment, equality, and well-being, and the benefits to the planet are side effects. Why is family planning an important civil rights consideration?
Gail Yeo 4/03/2019 3:35 PMFamily planning is a civil rights issue because it gives women power over their bodies and the ability to make decision about whether and when to have a child.
