Going meatless, zero-waste, and shopping at the market is delicious. I tried a new recipe for blueberry bread and it turned out amazing!

Thanks to the Brisbane Climateers for constantly providing ideas for positive action. I'm committed to a healthier lifestyle not just for me but for my family. Today I started by catching the train to the coast for our weekend away instead of driving. It took 3 hours instead of 1.5 but my toddler loved it and I got to read my book while she slept (way more fun than driving on a highway). It's great to at least try doing things differently. Turns out this choice will be a much more common commute style for us.

I love walking wherever I can. You see so much you miss when driving. It is such a sensory experience. I often stop to enjoy a bird singing or the scent of a garden.

Riding the bus/train in this city can be frustrating. We definitely need better infrastructure. Sometimes what would be a 20 minute drive can be nearly 2 hours on transit. And depending on the time of day/day of the week, the schedule can be inconvenient. Public transit is my primary form of transportation, so I have to make sure I bring a good book whenever I am out and about on the bus/train!
