Judith Lechner 4/24/2019 7:53 PMI believe political pressure and pressure on businesses to do more toward the protection of the environment and environmental justice are our best hope for truly mitigating climate change. -
Judith Lechner 4/24/2019 7:52 PMThis being the last day, I wanted to say that this was a very worth-while activity for me and for others, no doubt, in helping us to expand our knowledge and understanding about the variety of ways we can mitigate climate change. I also learned about myself a little more. Some things are hard for me, and others are easy. When it comes to transportation, I still use too much gas-powered energy, though I do try to not make many quick forays with a car but rather cluster my activities into a smaller number of trips. When it comes to food waste, my weakness is coffee. I don't like old, cold, or reheated coffee. This results in my throwing away more coffee than I'd like. We do donate to environmental groups and environmental and other economic justice groups, e.g. Women for Women International; Environment, NC; NC Warn; Heifer International; Planned Parenthood, and the NC Dogwood Alliance among others. It is a drop in the bucket when one thinks of all the needs. -
Peter Bird 4/24/2019 8:02 AMCongratulations, team, on a very strong showing in the challenge. Thanks for leading us, Laura. -
Caroline Sherman 4/24/2019 7:17 AMThe ecochallenge has been really interesting and a great way for me to get links to learn more about issues I care about. My only regret is that it was short--takes me a long time to develop a new on-line habit! :-) Thanks to our team leader!!! -
Elsbeth van Tongeren 4/24/2019 6:12 AMI joined the challenge to learn what other people do. It can feel lonely to just do the best you can without input from others. Here's to a constantly widening movement to save our planet and humanity from destruction! -
Mike Gilliom 4/24/2019 4:47 AMThank you so much, Laura, for leading us to our team's heights! -
Susan Blanchard 4/24/2019 3:57 AMOK, this really is the last day! I have learned a lot about a variety of topics. -

Laura Gilliom 4/23/2019 3:43 PMPlease ignore my email from yesterday saying it was the last day! Tomorrow is the real last day. :-) -
