I can feel confident about whether something is still "good" However, it was interesting to look at different sources and see recommendations vary for things like dried pasta and beans.

Ag and urban development negatively impacts water quality. Road salt is emerging as a big issue to water quality. Nutrients from ag and urban systems are impacting streams, lakes, and estuaries. Wetland protection has got to be the most important thing we can do. We need stronger protections for wetlands and riparian areas at the local, county,...

smaller plates didn't really work for me--I am sloppy and made too many crumbs!

Decided against joining a solar farm at this time--too expensive--although I wouldn't rule it out for the future

Where do I begin? As a kid I was concerned  about animals and never getting to see them in the wild.  I still deeply care about extinction and suffering of all the living.  As a traveler I’m concerned about not being able to see something- like glaciers or a remote island due to higher temperatures.  I’ve always wanted to save the world - bring...

Planting trees gives you a feeling of accomplishment, of making a difference. The act is not difficult at all, but the mental enjoyment is...

It's a cultural thing that has taken a long time to shift. When I was a kid, vegetarians were rare (and were only fed the side dishes at gathering LOL). Now, it is much more common and even the meat-eaters are eating less meat as well.

This is a tough one with way too many components. My first thought - a sustainable community would be one where the leadership spends money on things because they are important to our future. Too many communities are led by people who are looking to save taxpayer money (responsible use of tax dollars is GOOD, but...) rather than spend more to...

This past January I listened to Melinda Gates talk about her latest book, “The moment of Lift : how empowering women changes the world.”  She showed a video clip of some of the women she interviewed to write to book and I was reminded how fortunate we are in the United States to have choice and the ability to run over to a clinic, physician’s...
