My plastic consumption usually consists of: To-go juices (Naked juice, in particular) Coffee cup lids Straws Food packaging Plastic bags for the shared bathroom trash bin I can substitute these with: Juice from home in my own to-go container Coffee from home in my own coffee container The metal straw I have sitting in my drawer....

I'm mostly focusing on reducing my plastic consumption. For about a week to a week and a half, I was virtually plastic free (in terms of buying and using). I caved one day when I needed an energy boost during a late night and bought a Naked juice drink. That caused a bit of a snowball effect...So I'm starting fresh today (Wed, April 17)!

I was surprised that tidal energy isn't used more! There are definite drawbacks, but those seem to be similar to the drawbacks of wind turbines, with the exception of being underwater. Yes! From Drawdown. It seems like the biggest advantages of silvopasture are 1) being able to keep the  landscape similar to how it was, with trees and native plants- biodiversity (as opposed to clear-cutting the area to create pasture) and 2) being able to use existing (or planted) trees to sequester carbon from the atmosphere! (which is not...

I biked to the grocery store and back today. While the ride itself was enjoyable, I forwent buying eggs as I was not confident I'd be able to make it back to my apartment with them intact. I also think I will have to go shopping again sooner, as I can only carry so much in my backpack.
