REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and Girls Support Women-Owned BusinessesGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?
Corinne Badini 4/17/2019 5:20 PMI appreciate how these websites clearly explain the cause and effects going on. Whenever possible, support financially and raise awareness. Knowing that our money has value beyond the dollar - it says something about what we support. Really every purchase can be an investment in something bigger than us. I wish these smaller businesses were more well known and accessible but capitalism really takes a toll. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Corinne Badini 4/17/2019 5:12 PMI think about this a lot - why we eat so much meat. It's got to be convenience and tradition. Definitely because it is cost effective but also people are not willing to find substitutes or even lessen meat consumption. There is maybe lack of creativity or knowledge of other options. We need to normalize meals without meat. Not every menu needs a meat option either. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More about Wave and Tidal EnergyWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?
Corinne Badini 4/17/2019 5:10 PMI was not surprised to learn that tidal energy is the most expensive, considering it's cost of maintenance and setting it up. The potential it has for creating energy did surprise me though. It leaves me hopeful and excited. I think I will talk about this more because it gets overshadowed in discussions about renewable or clean energy. -
Corinne Badini 4/07/2019 5:13 PMI struggled to get myself to log into the website to log my activity on the weekend when I'm not usually around my computer but I guess that's a good thing because I'm outside and not using electricity to power my computer.
