  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation Solar Water Consultation
Diversifying our energy supply and improving public health are just two benefits of renewable energy. What other motivators inspire you to consider installing a solar water heater in your home?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/24/2019 11:00 PM
Aside from being a more environmental choice in terms of energy conservation, solar energy is a great long-term financial move.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Install a Toilet Bank
How can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/24/2019 10:59 PM
Toilet banks, low water faucets are all really great ways to improve your home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Fix Leaky Faucets
What are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/24/2019 10:58 PM
Shorted showers are a great way to reduce water. Simple things like not leaving the water running when you don't need it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/24/2019 10:57 PM
Using non-flight transportation definitely changes the course of a trip, but it can bring new experiences you wouldn't have otherwise had.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/21/2019 5:34 PM
The places I frequent often are, my house, my school, my dance studio, the climbing gym, the mountains and my office. School, dance, the climbing gym and the mountains are all places I typically do carpool to.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/21/2019 5:33 PM
I think that the most important step everyone can take when it comes to the "R's" is reducing. If we cut out the materials we are using to start with we won't have to take further steps.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/19/2019 1:25 PM
I prioritize most things over the material "stuff" in my life. Most importantly I try and enjoy what I'm doing. The only stuff I find necessary is the stuff that helps me do the things I enjoy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Choose Recycled Paper
Good job on choosing recycled paper! How can you take your action a step further?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/19/2019 1:23 PM
After purchasing already recycled paper, I can try to limit my use of this paper. Not using an entire sheet for something that does not take a full page to write. Then ensure to recycle this paper after I do use it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Use Choose Better Wood Products
Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/19/2019 1:22 PM
Spending any time outside makes me happy. Large forests have a beauty to them that can not be captured.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use Buy Bamboo
Are bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?

    Sonora Beievolny's avatar
    Sonora Beievolny 4/19/2019 1:20 PM
Although bamboo is not produced in my location, it is still accessible.
