REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Buy BambooAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Peace Room 4/08/2019 8:47 AMWe learned that trees take 30 years to grow big enough to harvest, but bamboo is ready in a single season! Whenever we have a choice between bamboo and a different material we will choose bamboo - we understand that our parents make the shopping choices, so we will make sure to let our parents know that we want bamboo stuff! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Peace Room 4/08/2019 8:44 AMWe get paper, oxygen, sap, fruit, shade, furniture, and lots of other important things from trees. We are committing to planting 1 tree per student in the Peace Room! -
Peace Room 4/05/2019 11:31 AMIt's much easier than we thought it would be! It turns out we can make a big difference by making small changes to our daily life. Kookookachoo! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Peace Room 4/05/2019 11:28 AMWe realized that we are a little bit wasteful with lots of different things in our day to day life, so now we can change it because we are aware of it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Peace Room 4/05/2019 11:26 AMDecreasing our food waste is important to us for lots of reasons, but if we had to pick one it would be because we want to use less land for farming. -
Peace Room 4/05/2019 11:21 AMToday the Peace Room joined the DrawDown EcoChallenge because we want to be changemakers and help make the world a better place! We can't wait to participate in as many of these challenges as we can!
