I am so happy that our Farmer's Market is back and last Thursday I got all my fruits and veggies from all the farmers around my town, Concord, CA.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

the best benefit for me eating small portions is that I've noticed I am more energetic during the day.

In honoring Earth Day today, April 22nd, we took our mother to Muir Woods National Monument this past weekend where you can see the towering old-growth redwood trees and stayed away from all electronic devices the whole day.  We had the best time ever and the weather was just perfect :)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

researched and found one CSA farmers market near my town which I will check it out this weekend.
Buttercup Farms Garden is a single farm since 2010 and a one-acre intensively planted, production garden located in Clayton, California that uses only natural fertilizers and pest control.
The Garden is a part of Buttercup Farms, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people help themselves. The Garden provides a supportive and inclusive work environment, in which people shed their feelings of isolation and loneliness and gain an enhanced sense of well-being and confidence.
