REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Choose Recycled PaperGood job on choosing recycled paper! How can you take your action a step further?
Liza David 4/11/2019 12:54 AMusing re-cycled A4 sheets in my printer, using rolls of recycled paper for drawing / sketching, find an alternative to post-it notes and gift people more recycled paper products (they make nice gifts and are a way to spread the word...) -
Liza David 4/11/2019 12:49 AMTask #41 in "ELECTRICITY GENERATION" - Solar Water - "I will contact a local installer/distributor to see if a solar water heater makes sense for my house" - We have a solar water heater at home, but 2 bathrooms are not connected to it. We have decided to use the one bathroom with solar, or take water from it in a bucket, to the other bathrooms if we need hot water. It's working, must keep it going! -
Liza David 4/11/2019 12:47 AMTo complete Task #70 in "MATERIALS" - Recycled Paper - "I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and subscriptions." - I took some time to change phone and internet bill to paperless, and even more time to convince folks at home to do the same ;) Also, no more new notebooks (though I am still tempted by my instagram feed!)- i found a set of 5 recycled notebooks on betterindia and some on second life - which uses old tyres and other reused rubber for the covers of the notebooks. Also our 'one sided paper' stack is growing and i must set aside time to stictch together a book from pages of semi-used notebooks of the past. So much paper! -
Liza David 4/06/2019 1:00 AMBought bamboo toothbrushes for everyone in the family. The bristles are still acrylic. Maybe charcoal and salt or toothpowder is best? :O ;). Everytime i have tender coconut or juice, have to remember to say NO STRAW. Bought a few bamboo fibre based clothes too - and they didn't have harmful packaging either, from bambootribe.com. Please share ideas on what else can be bamboo? Thanks!-
Poonam Kasturi 4/08/2019 10:22 PMWay to go, Liza! By making efforts and continually thinking about the materials we use, we can arrive at suitable solutions. For Bamboo, I stumbled upon the folloing website, maybe it helps you: https://www.bambooimport.com/en/blog/products-made-from-bamboo

Liza David 4/03/2019 10:41 PMFocusing on the content and waste around my food - eating plant based and attempting to be zero waste in shopping and eating. My other focus is to spend some time researching areas I want to know more about.
