Excited to find a nearby farmer's market so I can start eating more local food!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

Eating smaller portions can have health and economic benefits as well.

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

Knowing the difference between use by, sell by and best by dates empowers me to make better decisions about my food. These dates are not expiration dates and do not indicate if the food item is edible. These dates indicate when the product will reach its peak quality and freshness. After learning this, I have already saved food in my fridge from being tossed out.
