REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Test Drive an Electric BikeHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?
Nikole Fauser 4/14/2019 7:51 AMI definetily find myself driving short distances and then thinking to myself i could have easily just walked or biked this distance. Using electric bikes will forsure help the health of our community, and depending on how charged the bikes are they could get us to the destintation just as fast as a car would, and we wouldnt have to sit in the traffic and blow pollution off from our car. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Use Muscle PowerHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Nikole Fauser 4/14/2019 7:49 AMMy transportation choices affect my engagement in my community by making sure that my choices are thoughtful and that my choices will not harm those in my community. My expericence with walking is much more joyful than driving because when i am walking i can look up and see the nature and see how thankful i am to live in such a nice well kept clean community, vs driving where i have to pay attention to the road at all times to make sure i don/t wreck or cause danger. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Nikole Fauser 4/12/2019 4:20 PMother motives that inspire me are just protecting my community, saving lives of plants and animals, and just thinking about what is good for the community and everything involved in it -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Start a Social Media CampaignHow are people responding to the statistics you're sharing on social media?
Nikole Fauser 4/12/2019 4:18 PMOnly a few people seem to be responding, just because there are several people who are really not that interested in it. -
Nikole Fauser 4/11/2019 11:19 AMit is going much better than i assumed. i imagined that it would be hard, but it really isn't. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Support Microgeneration in Low Income CountriesHow can micro energy solutions reduce inequities? Why is this important to you?
Nikole Fauser 4/11/2019 11:16 AMMicro energy solutions reduce inequities by trying to improve the safety of locals and families. They also can reduce them by making sure there is equal access to individuals and the community. this is important to me because i believe that everyone in the world deserves equality and safetyness.
