REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Research Heat PumpsWhy is taking action on climate change important to you? Why do you care?
Sarah Fischer 4/15/2019 8:34 AMI think it's important to plan for the long term survival of the human species. Aside from protecting beautiful areas, we need to ensure that we have sustainable resources and a stable climate so that all of our descendants have equal opportunity to thrive. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Launch a Recycling ProgramHow can you take your commitment to sustainable living beyond yourself? How can you, personally, work toward broader change?
Sarah Fischer 4/15/2019 7:48 AMI committed to take all the compost and recycling from my 2nd office home since we don't have a program for either available. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Online Energy AuditWhat are your next steps for saving energy?
Sarah Fischer 4/15/2019 7:47 AMUpgrading an old, inefficient heating system can increase your comfort and save you money on heating and cooling costs, especially in a properly weatherized home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Sarah Fischer 4/05/2019 12:54 PMI've been looking for new boots for months because my current boots are falling apart. I wish I new how to repair them because I can't find any that I like better, and I don't want to buy a new product if I don't have to.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Sarah Fischer 4/04/2019 5:54 PMI don't think a majority of the public realizes the environmental impact of eating meat. There's definitely a lack of education on the subject and the severity of the issue. It shows that we have an "ignorance is bliss" mentality about a lot of challenges; if we can't see it and it doesn't impact us personally on a day to day basis, we don't care. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Sarah Fischer 4/04/2019 5:51 PMIt helps you avoid throwing away food that is still perfectly safe and tasty. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
