REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More about Wave and Tidal EnergyWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?
Courtney Godwin 4/16/2019 5:01 AMI was surprised that tidal energy isn't used more! There are definite drawbacks, but those seem to be similar to the drawbacks of wind turbines, with the exception of being underwater. Half of the possible negative effects have not been researched enough for them to convince me that using more tidal power would be an absolutely bad idea. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Courtney Godwin 4/08/2019 4:53 AMHaving the pedestrian sidewalk merge with the bike lane in a city where everyone travels by bike is not helpful for pedestrians! When I was walking, I was worried about being in the way of the bikes. When I was biking, I was worried about choosing to be on the sidewalk with pedestrians or in the street with the (admittedly very few) cars. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Go by BikeHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
Courtney Godwin 4/04/2019 10:24 AMI biked to the grocery store and back today. While the ride itself was enjoyable, I forwent buying eggs as I was not confident I'd be able to make it back to my apartment with them intact. I also think I will have to go shopping again sooner, as I can only carry so much in my backpack.
