REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Leah Goldstein 4/20/2019 4:44 PMOn my walks, I notice a lot of houses and trees. I enjoy seeing people (and their dogs) and socializing with them. I would enjoy my walks more if there was a public park or community garden. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Leah Goldstein 4/20/2019 4:33 PMIn my opinion, people in North America eat more meat than people in other countries becuase they can afford it and it is a very common food. Our country has a long history of eating meat. Our history/culture contributes to the increase in consumption of meat today becuse of how big the industry is. This shows that North Americans support the growing meat industry. It is ok to eat meat, but we should decrease the amount we eat. There are other countries that are just as successful without consuming the amount of meat that we are. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Leah Goldstein 4/18/2019 7:34 PMInstead of traveling by plane, my group planned to travel by car to get to our destination. The eight of us carpooled in two cars. It was very easy to plan our trip using cars instead of traveling by air planes. In the future, I can avoid more air travel by planning trips using ground transportation. For example, I can travel to a nearby state in a car or by train. I can also avoid taking uneeded trips/vacations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Leah Goldstein 4/17/2019 7:12 AMI can incorporate the other “R’s” in my life style by donating clothes I no longer need, shopping second hand, and repurposing anything I can. I can also use reusable Tupperware and jars for my lunches, instead of plastic bags. Incorporating these “R’s” in my daily life makes me feel hopeful and optimistic that the world will be able to reduce the use of plastic and other non-evoirmentally friendly items.
