REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/22/2019 3:34 PMI am impressed about how many light bulbs where still not LED in my house. Specially in closets and rooms I don't use often. So many things next, probably the thermostat. -
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/22/2019 8:22 AMHappy Earth Day Team!! Last push to complete the challenges. -
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/19/2019 6:16 AMTIP:
Include 1-2 challenges in your weekend plan. Even if you are traveling, include challenges that you can complete. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/16/2019 2:04 PMFirst I want to state that I truly didn't know that the dates were not regulated.
I will be looking more to the dates in the product, specially sell by. If I know I will cook an item first, I will get the closet (earliest) sell by date to avoid it going to waste in the supermarket. -
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/09/2019 6:51 AMHi Team!
TIP:
I you notice you have not being completii a daily challenge. Change it. Daily challenges are the ones that after this event we can continue doing, like recycle, eat less or 1 meatless meal.
I am already planning some of the harder challenges I selected. Will post pictures once it is complete. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Learn about Local Indigenous PracticesWhat did you learn about indigenous peoples' land management that you can apply in your own life?
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/05/2019 8:06 AMLand Management includes respecting other creatures that also live in the land. We tend to modify 'our' land without thinking on the impact to small animals.
Before doing backyard projects I will check the best approach to reduce impact.-
Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/05/2019 9:49 AMAlso, the Houston EcoTeam partners with the Bayou Land Conservancy to promote conservation and land management in Houston which helps with the flooding issues. Webpage: https://www.bayoulandconservancy.org

Maria Gonzalez-Pardo 4/02/2019 10:34 AMTIP:
Try to get one challenge from each category.
When I open the Challenges page I felt tempted to go straight to the group which I am most comfortable with. However, let’s try to use this challenge to also explore what other actions we can do and we might like. -
