Allison Gordon 3/29/2019 11:21 AMIt's almost the ecochallenge! Get ready to make a difference! -
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 4:00 PMI think this is a fun and easy way to make a difference. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Launch a Recycling ProgramHow can you take your commitment to sustainable living beyond yourself? How can you, personally, work toward broader change?
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 3:44 PMIf people took the time to look, we could've come up with lots of different ways to reuse plastic bottles into helpful tools. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 2:49 PMWasting compost to make food you won't eat is kind of our fault. Food is valuable, without it, we cannot live. Not wasting food, or at least composting what you don't eat, can help the earth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Go by BikeHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 2:46 PMI think that it's just as easy to walk somewhere than taking a car. I heard somewhere that taking the stairs can burn as many calories as taking a walk, so it can be healthy too. Also, if you have good, strong legs, capable of moving, then one way to appreciate that is to use them! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice DonateHow are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and Girls Make School More AffordableWhy is it important that girls have equal access to education in order to reduce our global greenhouse gas emissions?
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 1:30 PMGirls are just as capable as boys in all fields. If girls have better educations, there would be more people helping to reduce global warming. -
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 6:53 AMI can't wait for the ecochallenge -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Allison Gordon 3/26/2019 6:51 AMThe Rs are super important. Doing the Rs are the simplest way to make a difference. I could recycle on a daily basis. -
Allison Gordon 3/22/2019 5:48 PMBefore the Ecochallenge starts, everyone should still do their part to help the environment-
Dana Stein-Dince 3/23/2019 11:30 AMAbsolutely! It’s easier than people think. Thank you for that great message, Allison!
