In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

In terms of the world, I would say that North Americans are generally more affluent and that is one of the reasons we eat more meat. However, I also believe it is sometime cheaper for us to eat meat than it is to eat healthier foods.  I believe we are also influenced by society in terms of family practices, what restaurants have to offer and how a complete meal is defined.

How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

Repurpose is one of my favorite "R"s as I hate to throw out something that can still be useful! I'm fortunate to be able to bring items to work that we can use with our children, to my  local thrift store that helps support my church and to my niece who likes getting gently used hand me downs from her cousins.

Interesting article in CNN that what we aren't eating is killing us! Yikes! We generally lack whole grains, fruit, nuts and seeds.  Not feeling too guilty about eating Skinny Pop every day since popcorn counts as a whole grain.
