REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and Girls Research Barriers to Participation and RepresentationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?
Michael Hogue 4/22/2019 5:56 PMCultures that keep women as second class citizens. Lack of credit or job experience. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and Girls Learn about the Need for Family PlanningWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? Share some of the learning with your friends!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and Girls Support Women-Owned BusinessesGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?
Michael Hogue 4/22/2019 5:54 PMIn most communities around the world, women are the ones to bring in the money. Support women owned businesses and you end up supporting the community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Improve a Bus StopHow can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
Michael Hogue 4/22/2019 5:53 PMAny mass transit is environmentally friendly by design. The problem is that of the last mile issue. Depending on where you are or want to go, mass transit will get you nearby but not necessarily exactly where u want to be. That leaves you to figure out how to get to/from transit. If u are willing to expect a not perfect system, you will be more environmentally friendly and vis versa. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Use Muscle PowerHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Michael Hogue 4/22/2019 5:46 PMI have only a few modes of transportation since I am an amputee. I ride transit or I walk. Walking is not a fun experience for me so I am so glad I have access to public transit. It even helps that I work for a public transit agency! -
Michael Hogue 4/22/2019 5:42 PMHard to do the challenge when you are chilling with your friends! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Purchase a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2. What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
Michael Hogue 4/17/2019 6:26 AMJust don't travel....but that is not reasonable. Travel broadens your perspective and allows compassion by giving your others viewpoints. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Forest-Friendly Foods 2How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Michael Hogue 4/17/2019 6:24 AMI'm always willing to try new foods. The hard part is adding them to my diet on a regular basis and get out of my comfort zone.
