  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/24/2019 6:57 PM
regardless of these dates, plan ahead and buy only what you need until your next grocery run. Use locally grown fresh produce as much as possible.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/24/2019 10:18 AM
keeping healthy weight, feel good about self-control, quality over quantity, and you feel better after the meal.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Advocate For Greener Vehicles
How does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/23/2019 7:53 PM
since our company doesn't own a vehicle, i might find a way to advocate using alternative fuel vehicles for the business travel.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Social Justice Express My Support
How could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/23/2019 7:46 PM
walking is more universal than driving as it doesn't require owning a car. better walking infrastructure creates less discrimination and less barriers.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/18/2019 7:10 PM
plastic zipper bags! especially when you have "wet" food item that doesn't quite fit in small size container for kid's lunch.. for the most of part, I've been using wax wraps, wax papers, anything but single use sandwich bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Buildings and Cities Online Energy Audit

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/18/2019 6:06 PM
I rather use that money to feed the hungry.
I rather use that money to restore the land.
I rather use that money to travel & explore the nature.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Clean air, clean water and healthy food are three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons?

    Seonhee Kim's avatar
    Seonhee Kim 4/18/2019 6:01 PM
diversity prevails in many different levels. Regenerative agriculture protects soil and allows crops to be more resilient.

I think I have gotten used to eating meatless meals every day! What else can/should I get used to that will have an impact in personal level as well as in global level?
